Hey there! Here is a quick post on what I have been up to.
How was your weekend? Mine went absfabs!!!
We had wonderful friends over for dinner on Saturday.
Yesterday, of course, the match was great and Spain gave a superlative performance!!!
Its mad summer sale all over Geneva and for once you see a LOT of people in the malls and on the streets!!! It was very hot but today we had rain in the morning and now its cool and breezy. Beautiful.
I am reading all the comments and watching all the videos from my subscriptions and then going back to unfinished chores, so I have so many comments that I want to make and kept postponing. May be I will sit down and do that tomorrow. And start a new painting. I am going to get some prints for my shop this week.
Love to all you guys. Have a great week ahead.

Art à la Serviette
There is a section where they have beautiful paper towels and decorative papers ( and this is in the art section). On one of those weekend visits I saw these ladies were glueing cut outs from these tissue papers on to wooden plates and decorating them. I moved on to get my acrylic paints, brushes and canvas, etc.
Last Saturday when I went back, I took a closer look and I saw a range of special glues and varnishes available for the décopatch papers and the serviettes (napkins) along with brushes of different sizes. It was too much of a temptation for me when I saw this tea n coffee design. I had to work with these. I have brought a few décopatch papers and glue and will be using them in my paintings!!!!
Tell me what you think!

Football fever
See how cute this is (a gift hubby brought home). I was never a football fan. But I think the enthusiasm and the madness surrounding the game now in Geneva has had its effects!!! Ronaldo kicked ass and I think I am going to watch him play his next game LIVE!!!
Calcutta is football and cricket crazy .........so all of this reminds me of home and all my friends who used to wonder how I can NOT be in LOVE with any of these two...LOL!!!
Am back from the post ofice, will be painting most of the day today.
Love to you lovely ppl, I love to read your comments and get to know your thoughts.
Cheers!

The LOTUS
"Violence against women is an issue that cannot wait. A brief look at the statistics makes it clear. At least one out of every three women is likely to be abused in her lifetime. ... No country, no culture, no woman young or old is immune to this scourge. Far too often, the crimes go unpunished, the perpetrators walk free....It is a campaign for the women and girls who have the right to live free of violence, today and in the future. It is a campaign to stop the untold cost that violence against women inflicts on all humankind."
-Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to the Commission on the Status of Women

Erica paints me!!!!
It has been wonderful getting to know Erica. The music she used in this video is a spiritual song that we refer to as a ''bhajan'' in the Sikh (Punjabi) community. Erica didn't know this but I have a very high regard for the Sikh culture and music. So, this video will always be extra special for me and very pleasantly surprised that she came around to use this music. Her painting style is very unique and I love the way she paints on a record. Very Cool E!!!! Loved it!

The legend who ''freed women from ladylike shackles''
Yves Henri Donat Mathieu Saint Laurent (August 1, 1936 in Oran, Algeria, – June 1, 2008 in Paris, France)
"For a long time now, I have believed that fashion was not only supposed to make women beautiful, but to reassure them, to give them confidence, to allow them to come to terms with themselves." - YSL
