Welcome to Deezden! My name is Dithi and am a self-taught artist, now living in Geneva (Switzerland). I love to drink 'masala' chai! Indian traditions, women, mythology and folklore inspire my paintings. This blog is about my art, my life and my likes (not so much dislikes).
Feel free to leave me a comment after my posts. For any questions, commission inquiries, purchases through Etsy etc. email me at happydithi@gmail.com

This is gorgeous! I find it fascinating that these characters pop out of your head!!! I paint landscapes/nature etc but only with a picture or photo or something...your creations are so inspiring and gorgeous! It's amazing that just layers of paint as you described it creates the batik effect - atleast to my eyes :)
Rupa: I drew from my memories of folk imagery in Bengal! Lotus ponds, luscious green foliage of the villages in Bengal, the beautiful blue-green water, the womenfolk in traditional ''taant' sarees conferencing and bathing at the waterbodies :) Interesting how my work reminds you of ''Batik'', I can see how you connect the two!
Bonjour Dee! Cette peinture est MAGNIFIQUE! J'adore tes couleurs intenses et la façon avec laquelle tu peints tes personnages. J'ADORE !!! A bientòt! LuLu

Beautiful paintings. Your work reminds a bit (just a bit) of Badri Narayan's illustrations of the Mahabharata.
How utteryly gorgeous. I swear, if I could, I'd buy each and every painting of yours and in the biggest size possibl!
